Reality tv show on the History channel. BIG TIMBER follows the dangerous work of logger and sawmill owner Kevin Wenstob as he and his crew go to extremes to keep the family sawmill, and their way of life, alive. Kevin's logging a remote timber claim high up the steep, rugged slopes of Klitsa Mountain, deep in the majestic heart of Vancouver Island. It's home to some of the best wood in the world and Kevin's making a big bet to get it. The claim has a thousand truckloads waiting for him and his first goal is to get 200 truckloads off the mountain before winter shuts him down, but the mountain won't give up without a fight. That's only his first obstacle though, as he finds out close to winter that he has to clear his whole claim, all one thousand loads, as soon as he can get back up there in the spring. He'll be stuck with millions of dollars in penalties if he can't do it. With his wife Sarah, his son Erik, and his right-hand man Coleman by his side, Kevin will do whatever it takes to get that big timber!

The Call of Cthulhu, written in 1926 by H.P Lovecraft is a central iece in the horror-genre. Lovecraft renewed Horror with his style and ideas. Many have tried to adat his books to the big screen, but none has been as successful as the HPLHS who just recently comleted their black and white silent version of Call of Cthulhu. Not only did they attemt to make a faithful and creey adatation, but also to make it look as if it was made in the time of Lovecraft. The movie is blessed with terrific actors who all seem like they genuinely care about the ortrayal of the story. All erformances are to notch which signifies that the actors are very talented as well as great directing on art of Andrew Leman. This is truly one of the great strengths of Call of Cthulhu. The movie has a really authentic 1920ties feel to it. The roducers have ayed much attention to detail; so everything looks and feels genuine. Another oint. The adatation itself is magnificent. Never before have I seen such a faithful adation of any Lovecraft-story in my entire life. Nothing is rushed, its all there and even though the movie is only 45 minutes long it is just as good at telling the story as Lovecraft himself. The movie is full of secial effects, sto motion animation and so forth. This movie is low budget and indeendent; and yes Universal studios would be able to create more convincing effects, but that is entirely unessential to this film as it is made to fit the 1920ties era. If Cthulhu himself were made with fancy comuter animation the movie would have failed at its objective; to be faithful to the silent-movie genre. To be honest I love the effects in Call of Cthulhu. They strengthen the feel of authenticity and you never miss the big and ointless exlosions that mainstream cinema offers. I would ersonally recommend this movie to anyone with an interest in HP Lovecraft, Horror, Indeendent films and vintage films. It truly is remarkably good. Ive already watched it three times, and I love it more for each time. I hoe youll enjoy it as much as I have.
